“The Suitcase of Light” Meeting with Akgün Akova at İELEV Private High School
10th and 11th grade students of İELEV High School experienced a meaningful learning opportunity on November 21, 2025, as part of their Turkish language and literature class. Author and photographer Akgün Akova delivered an inspiring presentation titled “The Suitcase of Light.”
In his presentation, which brought together photography, literature, and various fields of science, Akova took students on an interdisciplinary visual journey. Using photographs collected from his travels from China to Colombia, and from South Africa to Peru, he demonstrated how cultures transform into art.
Thanks to this impressive presentation, our students had the opportunity to see and hear how key concepts of the IB Program such as multiculturalism, perspectives, culture, identity, and transformation can be represented through the observations of an artist.
