IELEV Photography Club students visited the Ara Güler Museum on October 23, 2025
As part of the visit, our students explored the exhibition “The Truth is the Best Picture” by Robert Capa ,one of the most important war photographers of the 20th century, with a guided tour. They had the opportunity to closely examine the historical, artistic, and documentary aspects of photography.
While observing Capa’s wartime photographs, participants experienced how a single image can reflect profound human stories. During this process, our students discovered the power of photography as a tool of documentation and enriched their visual culture knowledge by interpreting diverse artistic perspectives with an open-minded approach.
They also developed a sensitive and reflective point of view, strengthening their ability to think about and evaluate the role of photography in social memory.
This meaningful visit made a valuable contribution to our students’ learning journey by enhancing their artistic awareness, cultural sensitivity, and critical thinking skills.
