DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom) I-II

DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom) is an exam that students aged between 14-19 take to certify their competence in written and spoken German. It can be taken every year, and it helps students apply to German, Austrian and Swiss universities and university prep. schools. ZfA is an offical authority of Germany coordinating all schools worldwide offering German education. ZfA helps these schools with the implementation of three main programs: Abitur, Gemischtsprachiges International Baccalaureate and DSD. 

The German Ministry of Cuture presents DSD exams as the only offical school exam testing German as a foreign language. IELEV High School has been licensed to offer this exam since 2015. This exam, which is in two stages, is taken in grades 9 and 11. Students passing DSD 1 in grade 9,  are certified that they are at B1 level, and can apply to university prep. schools in Germany, Autria and Switzerland.  In grade 10, students study for DSD 2, that they will take in grade 11. Successful sudents passing the DSD 2 exam are certified competent at C1 level, and can apply to universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
