In November Vısual Arts In Istanbul Are Somethıng Else!
In November, İELEV High School Prep and 9th grade visual arts students toured visual arts museums with guides.
On November 6th, the Prep students visited the İş Bankası Museum of Painting and Sculpture with a guided tour. In the Watching Turkish Painting exhibition at the RHM Museum, our students closely observed the works of pioneering Turkish painters from the late 19th century to the early 21st century, all part of the Türkiye İş Bankası Art Collection. In the Istanbul Exhibition, they explored the city step by step through paintings, starting from the Historic Peninsula and moving on to the European side of the Bosphorus, then the Asian side, and finally the Islands.
Through this trip, our students learned about the museum’s current and collection exhibitions, witnessed the artistic journey Turkey has taken from the early 19th century to today, and gained insight into contemporary art.
On Wednesday, November 19th, during the guided tour we organized to Istanbul Modern Museum with our 9th grade visual arts students, they had the opportunity to see and understand the evolution of art from past to present through the museum’s curated collection. Examining works by both Turkish and international artists provided the students with a valuable chance to encounter artists from different cultures. With explanations of works from five different art styles and artists throughout the tour, our students gained a new perspective on art and art history.
We extend our sincere thanks to the tour guides who accompanied us throughout our visits and to the visual arts department that organized this trip.
