How will students be admitted to IELEV Private High School from IELEV Secondary Schools and from outside?

Our high school is a member of the Turkish Private Schools Association. It cooperates with other members of the association in admitting students from abroad.

Students who graduated from IELEV Secondary Schools are admitted according to the following criteria within the quota:

1. The arithmetic average of the scores taken from the General Evaluation Exam (GDS-IELEV), German DDS Written Exam (IELEV), and the internationally valid DSD-I Oral exams, which will be taken from the following courses in both semesters, are taken into account in the following ratios:

  • Written DDS Exam in German (20%)
  • German DSD-I Oral (11%)
  • Turkish (11%)
  • Math (11%)
  • Science (11%)
  • T.R. Revolution History and Kemalism (6%)
  • To attend our high school, students must have a minimum average of 50 in these courses.

2. High School Qualification Practice (LYU) score (30%):

This exam is a general aptitude test developed by leading academics in Turkey in the field of assessment and evaluation.

The weighted average of the scores in these 2 items is used to form the high school transition score (100 points in total). High School Acceptance Score (LKP) is created for students who apply to IELEV Private High School and meet the qualification criteria. All students are ranked according to LKP and students are accepted as much as the number of quotas.


Is it compulsory to study preparatory classes in high school?

Preparatory class is compulsory in IELEV Private High School. Because the language of instruction of the courses in German, English, and Turkish. Therefore, our students must have equal knowledge of all 3 languages.

Our students who were admitted from IELEV Schools start the English Preparatory Class, and our students who were admitted from other secondary schools start the German Prep Class. If the student has approved language-level documents, the student can choose the preparatory class to attend. Eligibility is evaluated by the school administration.

In addition, the preparatory class in our school, which is the IB World School, is an important year for educating students in line with the IB learner profile and preparing them for high school. Therefore, skipping the preparatory class is not considered appropriate. Special cases can be evaluated at the initiative of the school administration.


From which percentile does IELEV Private High School accept students?

We accept students from 3% and 4%.


What is the difference between GIB and IB?

The IB, the International Baccalaureate Organization, recognizes 4 languages as official languages of instruction worldwide: Chinese, Spanish, French, and English. The IB Diploma Program is conducted in one official language or two languages (one of the official languages and the mother tongue of the school). Our school is a German School Abroad. In the GIB-DP, which is implemented by German Schools Abroad around the world, education is provided in three languages. German, IB official language (English at our school), and mother tongue (Turkish at school). As a result, the GIB diplomas that our graduates will have are also approved by the IB organization.

What are the university opportunities for GIB Graduates?

The GIB Diploma Program is an international program that includes all modules of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and offers the same opportunities as Abitur and is valid in more than 100 countries (such as England, USA, and Australia).

In addition, our students who graduate with a GIB diploma have the right to apply directly to universities in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The GIB Diploma also provides students with scholarship opportunities both in some foundation universities in Turkey and some universities in the world. In addition, Turkish-German University provides a special quota for our students.


What does Abroad German School mean?

As of 2018, our High School is a German School Abroad (Deutsche AuslandsSchule -DAS) accredited by the German Government and is supported by the official authorities of the German government. These supports can be in various fields such as academic staff, the establishment of laboratories, funding for various projects, and cooperation with other German schools.

Our school, which is also a member of the Association of German Schools Abroad (WDA), has the opportunity to take part in different projects with other member schools, create a working network, and follow all current approaches in education.


What are CAS Studies?

CAS studies aim to enable students to develop their skills by getting to know themselves better, gaining sensitivity to social and international problems, and learning to work in collaboration with others. In CAS, which is one of the three main elements of the Diploma Program, GIB-DP students are expected to participate in various activities in three areas (creativity, activity, community service) throughout the program and to prepare a CAS project related to at least one of these areas. Our teachers advise our students throughout the program.

Creativity includes personal creativity in designing and realizing community service projects, and all other activities involving arts and creativity outside the school curriculum.

The purpose of Activity is to enable students to acquire lifelong healthy habits through various physical activities. Apart from the school curriculum, it covers individual and team sports and physical activities.

Community Service (Service) aims to develop students' ability to make decisions, solve problems, and take responsibility for their community service experiences, by becoming aware of their own capacities, and to become useful individuals for the local and/or international community.
