Dramaturg Çiğdem Odabaşı at the “Story Workshop”
İELEV High School’s Grade 11 Literature HL students met with dramaturg Çiğdem Odabaşı at the “Story Workshop” on February 3, 2026. During the workshop, Nikolay Gogol’s unforgettable work Palto (The Overcoat) was explored in a multi-layered way through creative drama methods.
As the text was analyzed through symbols, social background, and the inner worlds of the characters, our students had the opportunity to experience Gogol’s ironic, magical, and striking narrative power on stage.
By stepping into the text through creative drama techniques, our students did not only analyze a story; they breathed in its atmosphere, interpreted the characters’ emotions through body language, and discovered the transformative power of literature.
