Addiction: The Reward Mechanism and Its Functioning
As part of the preventive guidance activities carried out by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department of IELEV High School, a seminar titled “Addiction: The Reward Mechanism and Its Functioning” was delivered by Specialist Psychologist Can Gezgör to support our students in making healthy choices throughout their lives and raising their awareness.
The seminar was organized in two separate sessions: one for preparatory and 9th-grade students, and another for 10th- and 11th-grade students. The event addressed topics such as the biological foundations of addiction, brain development during adolescence, the brain’s relationship with addiction, risk factors, and ways to set healthy boundaries.
Conducted in an interactive environment with the active participation of our students, the seminar concluded with thought-provoking and awareness-raising discussions.
