The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a self-development Program for any young person between the ages of 14-24. The aim of the program is to enable the participants to have the life skills to make a positive difference in their own lives, their community and in the world. Over 8 million people from 140 countries have participated in this program since Prince Philip inaugurated it in 1956.
The program aims to foster
The Award Program is implemented in three categories in which the responsibility increases gradually with their duration: prep. students start with the Bronze stage and continue with Silver in grade 9. They spend their three hours doing community service, personal and physical development activities every week. This program is considered to be an initial step for the IB.
