Our general purpose in German education is to make our students more interested in language and arouse interest. We apply this by making them live, feel and search the language. To improve our students’ listening, reading-understanding, writing and speaking skills is one of our main goals.

To device a project, sing, play and organise handicraft activities (mostly in 1-4. grades) are irreplaceable to German classes.

Within the units, we carry the education out of the class with environmental trips. Our education is not restricted with four walls. It is very important for us to relate what we have learnt with life.

We work for our students to graduate at B1 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Language. Language level of our students in 8 grade are documented with DSD I Exam (Deutsches Sprachdiplom I) organised by KMK (German Culture and Education Ministry). Being approved internationally, these exams are used to measure students’ language proficiency.

4 grade students take A1 and 6 grade students take A2 level exams organised by KMK.

Apart from the exams organised by Foreign Education System Center, our students also take the exams applied by MEB.

Since teaching foreign language by making students live it is our main goal, we organise activities such as;

  • Exchange programs with Germany and Austria
  • Summer school in Germany
  • Ski Camp in Austria
  • Football camp in Köln
  • Tour of Grimm Brothers Fairytale Land
  • Graduation Trip to Berlin

Besides all of this, we hold “Spiel Spaß Schule” workshops every saturday where we organise activities such as handcrafts, theater, discovery of İstanbul, German cuisine etc.

In IELEV Education Institutes where multiculturalism is taken as a basis, we teach German culture to our students by living. Therefore, we organise activities that represents German traditions:

  • Schultüte (only in 1st grade)
  • Laterne (Torchlight Procession)
  • Nikolaus,
  • New Years’ Fair
  • Carnival
  • Easter
  • No doubt, the most important one in these activities is New Years’ fair, which turned into a great social responsibility project. Besides these, also theatre and drama are the activities that are supported importantly.

* Common European Framework of Reference for Language is a program that determines language acquisition levels in a straight and understandable way and explains what can the learner do at which level, assigned by Council of Europe. According to this program, foreign languages consist of 6 level; A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
